We run daily trips to the best dive sites around Amed. Come and visit the Japanese Wreck in Amed that you can see either snorkeling or diving. There are several other sites to explore around Amed, your dive guide will be able to show you the best spots. From small and weird critters to reefs and walls, Amed has something for everyone.

Drop off, Amed

Hop on a Jukung, a little traditional fishing boat, for a short ride to Amed’s drop off which is rich and abundant in fish life . Starting the dive on a gentle slopping reef gradually make your way to the impressive wall that drops off to 40+ meters. Look under the overhangs on the wall for hidden moray eels, pipe fish, nudibranch and shrimps. Once at the corner feel the sensation of being surrounded by swarms of fish and keep your eyes open for passing reef sharks, big groupers and the occasional eagle ray. Once back at the outside reef enjoy the gorgeous pink seafans and huge sponges.

Padang Bai Turtle Neck

Pyramid, Amed

The Pyramids in Amed offers some interesting coral reef where you will find some pyramid structures and sculptures underwater. These structures are being used to help regenerate the coral reef, which as you will observe works perfectly. They are now home for many juvenile fish, frogfish and the glass fish seem to love hiding inside. On the surrounding slopes you will find a wide-range of marine life from macro subjects such as ornate ghost pipefish and frogfish to larger marine life including sharks and turtles. The dive site can be reached by traditional boat or is just a few minutes from the shore.

Japanese wreck Amed

Japanese Wreck, Amed

The Japanese Wreck at Banyuning near Amed is an excellent dive site. This beautiful shallow wreck lying just a few meters off the shore of Lipah Bay beach make a perfect afternoon dive. The wreck itself is buzzing with fish life and the surrounding reef full of moray eels, sweetlips, pufferfish, porcupine fish and octopus. The waters and marine life in this area are rich and abundant as they are constantly being fed by the nutrients brought in by the forces of the Indonesian Through Flow currents.

Amed Cafe Garam bali

Cafe’ Garam, Amed

This sandy slopping reef lies on front of Cafe Garam. On this predominantly sandy bottom you will encounter some underwater statues, a little wooden wreck and even a motorbike which is now full of underwater life to be explored. Moray eels, lion fish, pipe fish and stone fish are commonly found using these structures to hide and wait for passing food. On the black sand check out all the colourful nudis and camouflaged flounders waiting to be found.

Harlequin Shrimp Tulamben

Melasti Beach, Amed

Melasti Beach is one of our favorite dive sites for macro photographers and divers that love the small stuff as many rare creatures can be found. Special critters like harlequin shrimps, frog fish, tiger shrimps and snake eels are just some of the unusual suspects. You can count on finding numerous different species of nudibranch and quite often cuttlefish and seasnake foraging for food in the sand.

Amed gili Selang Bali

Gili Selang, Amed

Gili Selang is always full of surprises along with its beautiful corals and sponges. There are good chances to encounter black and grey reef sharks, barracudas and big schools of fish if the conditions are correct. The cold upwellings from the deep will also bring the famous Hammerhead sharks into view! The current can be very tricky on this site and we recommend only for experienced divers!
